In 2020, four documentaries produced by the Cultural Heritage Documentation Center of Afghanistan were screened at the Russian Cultural House, with the presence of filmmakers and documentarians from both Afghanistan and Russia. This cultural event provided an opportunity for dialogue and the introduction of documentary works between the two countries.
During the screening, the documentaries “Bicycle Rider Buddha,” “Bamiyan: The Roof of Khorasan,” and “The Broken Bridge” received a positive reception. Following this screening, two works, “Bicycle Rider Buddha” and “Bamiyan: The Roof of Khorasan,” were nominated and showcased at the August 2021 Cultural Festival in Russia. This event stands as a symbol of cultural cooperation between the two countries and a significant step in promoting Afghanistan’s cultural heritage on the international stage.
